Three important children’s palliative care reports have been published over the last few months. These have important implications for the provision of palliative care to babies, children and young people across the Northwest
There are a number of key themes cross cutting all three reports.
- Choice in the setting of end of life care
- The need for 24/7 access to community children’s nursing and specialist palliative care advice and support
- The importance of Advance Care Planning
- The role and importance of Managed Clinical Networks
We will be working across the network over the next few months to engage with commissioners and organisational leaders to raise awareness of these drivers for improvement and develop a shared action plan
More to come…
