TUESDAY 03 JUL 18 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM
EDGE HILL UNIVERSITY, ORMSKIRK, L39 4QP
It has long been recognised that children and young people with complex and technology needs do ‘Better at Home’. It is essential however that parents and care givers are confident and competent to provide the 24/7 care that is required once back at home. Key to this is having access to high quality and consistent training.
Organised by WellChild and Edge Hill University, this conference will explore some of the challenges and solutions in enabling access to high quality training. Topics on the day will include looking at why good training matters, the impact of 24/7 care, barriers to communication and emotional resilience.
In addition there will be master class sessions in the ‘Better at Home’ simulation suite as well as an opportunity to take part in ‘The Mother of all Pain.’ Facilitated by Professor Bernie Carter, this interactive session will explore the very real issue of children’s pain.
