This is the twelth year of our intensive one day course in paediatric palliative medicine. The course is aimed at senior paediatricians, GPs and other experienced healthcare professionals who care for children with life limiting conditions and at end of life, at least once or twice a year, but may not have had the opportunity to have any formal training in paediatric palliative care.
The course comprises four themed sessions based on areas of clinical practice that clinicians find most challenging. Each topic will be presented as an interactive workshop, building on clinicians’ experience and available research evidence. Teaching will be in small groups with plenty of opportunity for exploring the individual learning needs of participants.
The course is facilitated by a team of professionals with extensive experience in paediatric palliative care lead by Dr Lynda Brook, Macmillan Consultant in Paediatric Palliative Care.
Who should attend?
Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come first- served basis. Priority will be given to
- Identified leads in paediatric palliative care in
- Community and acute trusts and senior clinicians.
How much will it cost?
The course cost £150 to cover the cost of actor-facilitators, refreshments, course materials and administration. This is a non profit making course.
